President

[Introduction]
Thank you for joining us today as you are busy.
Before introducing the topics, I would like to say a few words.
From September 30th to October 1st, "Typhoon No. 24" traversed the Japanese archipelago while maintaining a strong force, causing enormous damage to various parts of the country.
This typhoon is a particularly windy typhoon, and we have closed many routes within our jurisdiction. Especially in Tomei and Shin-Tomei Expressway-Tomei, where there is a lot of traffic, it took time to remove flying objects, fallen trees, branches and leaves, restore power, etc. due to the influence of the typhoon, and it was closed for a long time over a wide area. ..
We apologize for the inconvenience caused to many customers.
The longest closed time was between Gotemba Interchange (IC) and Toyokawa IC in Tomei, 18 hours from 21:00 to 15:00 on September 30th, and from Gotemba Junction (JCT) to Shinshiro IC in Shin-Tomei Expressway Tomei. So, it was 14 hours from 21:00 on September 30th to 11:00 the next day.
In the wide-area power outage in Shizuoka and Aichi prefectures caused by this typhoon No. 24, Chubu Electric Power's power restoration was based on the "Disaster Mutual Cooperation Agreement" concluded on July 25 this year with Chubu Electric Power. Vehicles passed through the closed section, and we were able to restore power at an early stage centered on the Shin-Tomei Expressway. I would like to take this opportunity to report.
Based on the lessons learned from the occurrence of rollover vehicles due to the impact of Typhoon No. 21, we will take early measures such as advance public relations to customers based on weather forecasts, and before strong winds that hinder driving occur. We will implement traffic restrictions.
Based on the frequent occurrence of such disasters, we are inspecting 6 items such as heavy rain, earthquake, and heavy snow as an emergency inspection of important infrastructure, and while continuing to cooperate with the national government, we will improve the safety of Expressway. We will work to enhance the functions.
Also, from 14:44 to Higashi-Meihan Expressway on Thursday, 18th last week, information on 5 information boards at Yoro JCT where Meishin and Tokai-Kanjo Expressway intersect, and information at 1 NagoyaNishi IC on Higashi-Meihan Road. An event occurred in which the board displayed incorrect information such as "There is missile launch information".
The cause is an operation error during the input work of the characters displayed on the information board.
We did not receive any inquiries from customers regarding the impact on traffic, but we deeply apologize for causing inconvenience and concern to many customers using the Expressway.
In the future, we will reinforce the input work procedure on the information board and strive to prevent recurrence so that such an event does not occur.
Now, let me continue with today's topics.

[Current status of business (September 2018)]
Please see Appendix 1.
First of all, in terms of sales, the toll revenue in September was 55,915 million yen, a decrease of 1.0% compared to the same month of the previous year, and the average number of traffic was 1,959,000 daily, a decrease of 0.9% compared to the same month of the previous year. have become. Both toll revenue and the number of traffic have decreased for the first time in seven months since February 2018.
In September, the typhoon No. 21 and No. 24, etc., were generally unfavorable in weather, and the Tomei concentration work that was carried out in October last year was conducted from September to October this year. Both revenue and traffic volume decreased compared to last year.

Next is the construction situation.
Attachment 1 describes the sections that are scheduled to be newly opened or completed with four lanes in FY2018.
In each section, road construction works such as earthworks and bridge superstructures are currently being fully rolled out, and construction work such as pavement work, signage work, information boards, etc. is being started from the completion of these body work. is.
Of these, it was announced on September 14 regarding the construction of the four lanes of the Tokai-Hokuriku Expressway, but from October 15 (Mon) to November 2 (Fri) morning, the road will be closed at night and the lane will be closed. We are implementing switching work.
When these constructions are completed, we expect that the prospect of service will be established to some extent, and we will inform you again in that case.
Road closure for the next lane change is scheduled for December. We will notify you once the specific implementation date has been decided.

Next is the situation of SA and PA.
See the back of document 1-1.
SA / PA sales in September were 17,525 million yen, up 12.1% from the same month last year, and sales in the food and beverage business increased 3.8% from the same month last year.
Despite the impact of Typhoons No. 21 and 24 in September, sales increased year on year due to the fact that three consecutive holidays were once more than last year.
As a reminder, on October 6 (Saturday), the new Expressway “Michidonki” was opened as a new business for Don Quijote at Shin-Tomei Expressway Tomei NEOPASA Shimizu.
The store has a wide selection of take-out products, such as roasted potatoes, which are popular among stores in the market, as well as seasonal local fruits. Please drop in when you go to Shizuoka.
Sales in the gasoline business increased 28.0% year-on-year due to higher selling prices and higher sales volume of diesel fuel.

[About the development of an outline sensor for early detection of customers who are unable to move in the toilet due to sudden illness, etc., or of items left behind]
Next is the topic of technology development.
Please see document 2.
Improving the comfort of SA toilets is one of the initiatives that we are particularly focusing on.
As stated in the booklet ``The Secret of Beautiful Restrooms'' that we handed out today, we have made various efforts in terms of equipment and cleaning to ensure that our customers can use our restrooms comfortably. I'm trying my best.
Today we would like to introduce the development of an ``outline sensor'' that can quickly detect forgotten items or customers who become unable to move in the toilet due to sudden illness.
If a customer becomes stuck in the restroom, it may take a considerable amount of time for nearby customers or area cast members to discover the customer.
In addition, the number of inquiries about lost items received by area concierges in SA and PA exceeds 20,000 a year, and there is no end to the number of items left in restroom stalls.
Therefore, we have developed a sensor that can detect these events early.
A sensor installed on the ceiling detects the movement of people and objects in silhouette, and by linking this with the opening/closing signal of the private room door, it is possible to identify people who are unable to move or items that have been left behind.
Until now, sensors that can find ``stuck people'' and ``lost items'' have been used in stores, office buildings, etc., but this product has both functions. In addition, by incorporating AI analysis, reading accuracy has been improved.
This product was jointly developed by our Companies in our Group, Central Nippon Highway Engineering Nagoya Co., Ltd (Enji Nagoya) and Kimura Giken Co., Ltd.
Going forward, we plan to complete the development of voice guidance devices to notify customers of forgotten items and abnormalities by the end of this fiscal year, and plan to gradually introduce them to SAs and other areas where many items are left behind starting next year.
For more details, the person in charge will give a demonstration and explain the functions in detail after the press conference, so please feel free to contact us.
In addition, as we have distributed flyers, we will be holding an exhibition called ``Innovation NAGOYA 2018'' at Fukiage Hall on October 30th and 31st, which will feature ENGI Nagoya's inspection technology and new products, including this product. Masu.
We would also like to ask you to interview us.

MC

These are the topics we have prepared today. Now, let's receive your questions.

Reporter

It is not a matter of today's announcement, but it will be one year in November after the trial of increasing the maximum speed of Shin-Tomei Expressway to 110 km has started, but it will be an impression based on the change during this time and a future problem Please tell me if you have any.

President

In May, there was an interim report from the Shizuoka Prefectural Police in May. We are cooperating with the 110 km trial operation by improving speed signs, traffic counters, and providing traffic speed data. The trial results will be evaluated by the police, and we will continue to cooperate based on the results.

Reporter

How is it perceived as Central Japan?

President

We do not analyze trials, so we will refrain from commenting.

Reporter

Although it is not a matter of today's announcement, the holiday discount application date changed during the Bon Festival in August. Please tell us about the progress.

President

The questionnaire is being analyzed. The next question is what to do with holiday discounts at the end of the year and the beginning of the year, but it is not yet possible to talk concretely.

Reporter

By when will the analysis be done and will be connected next?

President

I'm working on it now, so I'll tell you as soon as possible.

Reporter

Regarding the toilet outline sensor, what are your expectations and prospects as the president?

President

As a service using sensors, if a customer falls down, it can be fatal, so if it can be detected early, it can be transported quickly, and there are 20,000 lost items a year. Correspondence will also be saved. Above all, I think that it is of great value as a service that Japanese public toilets, including those inbound, are recognized as being very clean and comfortable. I would like to continue to develop toilets that are cutting-edge, beautiful, clean and comfortable to use.

MC

It seems that your question has been interrupted, so this is the end of your regular meeting.
