Committee for preventing recurrence of fire accidents caused by painting work on the YOSHIDA Viaduct Tomei Expwy
Central Nippon Expressway Company Limited Tokyo Regional Head Office established the "Tomei Expwy Naka YOSHIDA Committee for Prevention of Recurrence of Fire Caused by Repainting Work on Elevated Bridges," chaired by Professor Emeritus Yoshito Ito of Nagoya University, in order to identify issues in repainting work from a professional standpoint and examine measures to prevent recurrence, following a fire that occurred on November 21, 2019 under the E1 Tomei Expwy Naka YOSHIDA viaduct (in the area of Naka YOSHIDA, Suruga-ku, Shizuoka City). The "Committee for Prevention of Recurrence of Fire Accidents Caused by Repainting of Elevated Bridges" has been established.
