Conference Summary

【MC】

We have been waiting for you. We have just started the 74th regular press conference.

Thank you for having a busy place at the end of the year.

The first is the current status of our business in November.

The reason for the increase in toll revenue compared to the same month of the previous year and the decrease in traffic volume is due to the freezing of the free social experiment and the termination of the special discount on holidays in rural areas of 1,000 yen.

This month's ETC discount was 28 billion yen, down 7.9% from 30.4 billion yen in the same month last year. The discount rate is about 40.5%.

Next is the construction situation.

For 162 km between Gotemba JCT and JCT Mikkabi in Shin-Tomei Expressway, in parallel with pavement work and facility construction, We have been proceeding with countermeasure work for three newly confirmed landsribblings.

Of these, two additional measures have been completed. The remaining one Yokooka area was scheduled to be completed by the end of the year, but it is expected to be completed by mid-January next year, due to the impact of site conditions and other factors.

The official opening date is determined based on the effects of these landslide countermeasure works and the progress of the work, and after confirming that customers can use the site safely and securely.

Next is the usage status of ETC.

Lastly, in the GS sector, refueling volume was 98.4% lower than last year, lower than last year. However, due to a unit price difference of ¥ 11, net sales were 105.5% year on year, 165 million yen. The yen has increased.

The traffic congestion forecast for the year-end and New Year holidays was announced on the 28th of last month, but will be announced again as the year-end and New Year holidays are approaching.

In this traffic congestion forecast, due to the effect of the provisional three-lane operation in the Tomei Okazaki area, we forecast that the number of traffic congestions will be reduced by about 10% compared to last year.

The next topic is environmentally friendly initiatives.

We are implementing environmentally friendly initiatives to contribute to the environment and a sustainable society.

At the Shin-Tomei Expwy Gotemba JCT-Mikkabi JCT, which is aiming to open in early summer next year, about 1.25 million trees will be planted, including about 350,000 regional seedlings grown from seeds collected in the area, and the embankment slope will be filled. About 140ha of trees will be planted, which will be useful for absorbing and fixing about 1500t of CO2 annually.

Shin-Tomei Expwy, about 240 hectares of greenery, such as cut slopes and other meadows, are planted in addition to trees. It is assumed that this green space will become a forest by the seeds of trees growing native to the area coming and growing in the future. A forest area of about 380 ha, combining about 140 ha of forested embankment slopes and about 240 ha of cut slopes, and about 39 ha of the Nagoya Dome, which has been cut down by construction, exceeds a forest area of about 350 ha. Create We will continue to work on "controlling global warming" and "consideration for the local environment" through forestation on slopes.

Next is the guide to the Nagoya Motor Show.

The internal investigation committee continues to discuss the details of the facts of the fraud, measures to prevent a recurrence in the event of a violation of the Income Tax Law and fraud, and a wide range of discussions on the way business should be conducted.

The measures to prevent reoccurrence that have already been implemented are being implemented sequentially from those that can be implemented. Waiting for a report from the Investigation Committee, promptly formulating and implementing measures to prevent recurrence, and regarding the disposition of stakeholders, refer to the results of the Investigation Committee and the status of the trial, referring to the entirety of all cases. I want to make a decision when things have been identified.

Marantz, but Again, take this kind of situation very seriously, in strict and properly addressed, Companies in our Group will strive to restore confidence of the united early.

That concludes my topic.

【MC】

Now, I would like to receive your questions from now on.

[Reporter]

Is there any difference between what was announced on November 28 and what was explained today regarding the congestion forecast?

[President]

There is none. As the time is approaching, I explained again.

[Reporter]

You mentioned that the completion of the landslide work at Shin-Tomei Expressway was slightly behind schedule this year, but will this affect the opening of early summer?

[President]

The opening time is still early summer.

[Reporter]

Is it OK to announce the official opening date of Shin-Tomei Expressway in January?

[President]

I can't say when this will be announced, but I'd like to talk as soon as possible. Landslide construction is expected to end in January, depending on the situation.

[Reporter]

Could you talk a bit more specifically about the prospects for the disposal of related employees?

[President]

As I said, prosecutors' investigations are still in progress, and the in-house investigation committee has not been completed. I do not want to give a concrete outlook because I want to dispose of it after the whole situation has been clarified.

[Reporter]

Do you expect that by next March?

[President]

By that time, I think.

[Reporter]

What does it mean that prosecutors are now investigating? I thought the fraud was also prosecuted.

[President]

I don't know what it is.

[Reporter]

When defending Yamada from the company, Defendant was submitting a document stamped by the chief of the construction work. Despite the 2006 order, the name of the director of Toyokawa Construction Office was used. I think that such documents could not be passed by a normal company and it would be denied, but why did such accounting documents pass at Central Japan Expressway?

[President]

The investigation committee is examining that point. As I said last time, something that is impossible is happening. There was no doubt governance as to why that happened. Further details are being investigated by the Investigation Committee.

[Reporter]

Does it mean that people who were at the root of such a decision will also be targeted?

[President]

Due to the original rules, employees who violate are eligible.

[Reporter]

As you answered at the meeting of the Investigation Committee, is there still no idea to apologize to the quarry company for the trouble with the business of the other party? And why is that?

[President]

We are currently investigating this point. I think it is necessary to investigate in more detail how the other party was involved with Company A, what kind of request Company A made to us, and how we responded to it. So, I would like to talk about the content of the current question once the whole picture is clear.

[Reporter]

I would like to investigate in the future, but at a meeting of the Investigation Committee, there was a telephone exchange with the quarry company, so I did not call and listen to the other party's statements. Isn't it a one-handed drop even if you investigate in such a way? In other words, I don't doubt your employees, but for the reason I took it, I may have told the Investigation Committee what was different from the facts, and I had to match that part with the other party's statement It was because the true part was not seen and fraud cases were not checked carefully, and if the attitude of the Investigation Committee was not changed, it would not lead to the regeneration of Central Japan Expressway and the prevention of recurrence. I think not. Will we be able to hear the status of trials in the future?

[President]

In-house commissions have limited powers, unlike so-called state power investigations. Especially for people outside the company, I think there are limits to hearings. The facts will be revealed in the trial, and we will know what happened through the trial. However, the composition of the internal committee also includes some external members. I think there are restrictions on authority, but I think the current committee is the best way to investigate the facts.

[Reporter]

For example, what will be done if a trial trial reveals in the trial a content that is completely different from what the Investigating Committee issued? I believe that the truth of the contents of the report of the Investigation Committee may fluctuate, but what is the case?

[President]

It's a hypothetical question, so I don't know if such a fact will or will not come out. For now, we can only answer that we will respond properly one by one.

[Reporter]

I'd like to ask you about the disposition, is it OK to understand that the policy is to announce the disposition within the fiscal year?

[President]

To put it very broadly, we want to do that.

[Reporter]

It is subject to disposal, but you are considering a big policy that people who violate the original rules will be subject to disposal, but have you gradually understood the sense of scale?

[President]

I don't think it's time to say how many people we are trying to deal with strictly.

Also, as I said in the previous question, as mentioned in the question I asked earlier, there is also a question about what could not be done by the in-house investigation committee in the trial, and what should be done if it comes up in the trial. We are doing our best to investigate the matter, but if you have any of the above, you may need to consider a new disposition. Therefore, I think it is necessary to keep an eye on where the trial is going, so it's hard to say that it's hard to say by when.

[Reporter]

I think that the committee's investigation is progressing, but please let us know if there are any new measures that have been implemented since the last interview.

[President]

Nothing new. At the last interview, I mentioned about three major issues, including the addition of a lawyer hotline for compliance, reconfirming the basics of land negotiations and compliance with internal regulations, and working for employees who have been in the company for more than a certain period of time. Investigation of implementation status, etc. Of course, after that, we are considering, for example, what level of approval authority, but changing the company's current rules will require some adjustments, so we will incorporate what can be incorporated immediately However, we are proceeding with those that require adjustment.

[Reporter]

To whom class is the company's investigative committee listening? How many people are at the top, in terms of job title?

[President]

Some reports were sent to the boss of Toyokawa Construction Office where Defendant Yamada was, and to the Nagoya Regional Head Office, so I also listened to people related to the Nagoya Regional Head Office.

[Moderator]

The question seems to be interrupted, so the regular press conference is over.
