As part of the renewal work on the E1 Meishin Expwy (Meishin) between Gifu Hashima Interchange (IC) and Ogaki IC (both inbound and outbound lanes), we are currently carrying out work to replace the aging concrete deck* of the Nagaragawa Bridge with a new deck. This renewal work was originally scheduled to be completed around spring 2026, but due to the shift to a two-day weekend system for on-site work and the accompanying revision of the construction plan, we are now announcing that the completion date is now expected to be around autumn 2027.
(*) Deck: The name of the component on the floor of a bridge that bears the load of automobiles, etc.

The renovation work will be carried out from August 2021, ensuring four lanes (two lanes in each direction). During the construction period, lane shift restrictions will remain in place for approximately 2 km, including both before and after the Nagaragawa Bridge. The width of the lanes and shoulders will be narrower than usual. Please check signs and other information, observe the speed limit, and drive safely.

This construction is necessary to maintain the functionality of Expressway network in a healthy manner over the long term. We will work to minimize the impact on Expressway users, so we ask for your understanding and cooperation.
