To ensure that these organizational reforms are promoted, the Organizational Reform Promotion Committee, chaired by me, was set up on November 13 to carry out detailed examination of the organizational structure and other matters, and to prepare for the transition to a new business execution system. We will promote it strongly.

Also, please refer to Document 5 distributed to you.

Next month, December 2, it will be one year since the ceiling board of the Sasago Tunnel on the ChuoExpwy fell. We pray again for the happiness of the nine people who died in this accident, and we were struck by the bereaved family members and the victims based on our deep remorse and determination that we should never cause such an accident again. We will hold a memorial service in order to respond sincerely to all of our customers and to pledge our commitment to prevent recurrence.

On December 2, at 8:03 am when the accident occurred, we will pray for the happiness and offer flowers at the Sasago Tunnel East Exit near the accident site. After that, we will move to another location and start a memorial service at 9:45 am at City Hall Tsuru in Tsuru City.

On the day, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism officials, officials and other officials will participate, including bereaved family members. It is possible to have an interview, but some attendees are looking for privacy. There is a point in the media that we would like to cooperate with when reporting, so please understand.

The Group has established December 2 as “Safety Day”. These are the topics we have prepared today.

【MC】

Now, I would like to receive your questions from now on.

[Reporter]

Check document 5. It is silence, offering flowers, but is it all right to understand that the sequence begins at 8 o'clock?

[President Kaneko]

We will be silent at 8:03.

[Reporter]

How long is the silence?

[President]

About 1 minute is planned.

[Reporter]

What is the scheduled end time of the memorial service?

[President Kaneko]

It is scheduled around 11 o'clock.

[Reporter]

Who are the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism attendees?

[President Kaneko]

It is being adjusted at Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.

[Reporter]

Where is the local administration?

[President Kaneko]

Yamanashi Prefecture and local cities and towns.

[Reporter]

Regarding the conditions of coverage, there are specified places and times for coverage and coverage time, but what can we cover?

【MC】

I would like to explain in detail in the next announcement, including the content you can cover. Currently being adjusted.

[Reporter]

I would like to receive your opinion, but I understand that the bereaved family will be looking for privacy considerations. It is difficult to understand that interviews and photography are performed while taking that into account, and that the coverage of the ceremony is restricted at all. For example, please do not take a picture of your face or take a picture of your back, taking privacy into consideration while the ceremony or the silence or offering of flowers is taking place.

【MC】

We will consider based on such opinions.

[Reporter]

How many survivors will attend the silence, tribute, and memorial service?

[President Kaneko]

We will refrain from answering about your family.

[Reporter]

How is your progress in preserving wagons?

[President Kaneko]

I was discussing the transfer of ownership with the owner in front of the wagon, but I think that the discussion was prolonged and I am very sorry for the bereaved. Ownership was transferred to us on October 11th. Until then, it was kept at Kusakabe Police Station Enzan Branch Office, but moved to the facility of Katsunuma Interchange on November 13. Regarding the facilities that will ultimately be preserved, we will carefully determine the intentions of the bereaved family and decide.

[Reporter]

I think there was a third trial in the Yokohama District Court on October 5. You have been argued that the accident was unforeseeable, and you have shown a willingness to contend with the claims of the bereaved. Under such circumstances, please tell me why you hold the memorial service.

[President Kaneko]

I think the memorial service and the trial are completely different. This accident was undoubtedly an accident caused by our company, and nine people died in the accident. Pray for the happiness of the nine people, deeply reflect on them, and, using this as a lesson, all group officers and employees will hold a memorial service to renew their resolve unless this accident must occur again. You.

[Reporter]

He said at the last conference that he increased the number of maintenance staff responsible for inspections and other tasks by 88 to 400 people. The policy of increasing the number of people by 40 to 50 was also clarified, but please tell us the progress.

[President Kaneko]

We plan to continue adding two more people in December, bringing the total to 90. Over the next spring, we will increase the number of personnel in charge of maintenance by 40 to 50, and strengthen the on-site system.

[Reporter]

Is it all right to increase the number of personnel for implementing the three-year safety improvement plan by 40 to 50 to 450?

[President Kaneko]

I think there will be 440-450 staff.

[Reporter]

Please tell us about your recent progress in achieving the goals of the Three-Year Safety Improvement Plan.

[President Kaneko]

A lot is going on, but the big one is organizational reform. It was announced on November 1, but at this time it showed a large skeleton of the organization. Since the business division system will be changed to a regional system, we are studying how the work itself will work and what will be the responsibility system and authority. At the same time, we are considering how to streamline work for employees in the corporate department at the head office, including reviewing work methods.

[Reporter]

Please tell us what you need to create a company that has a corporate culture that puts safety first and that is trusted by society.

[President Kaneko]

There are a total of 66 projects in the Three-Year Safety Improvement Plan, and I believe that this is all to ensure that they are implemented. In order to regain the trust and credibility that we have lost from you, I have no magic, we will steadily carry out the plans we have planned and presented as promised, and publish our plans and results properly. I think that repetition is the only way to restore trust.

[Reporter]

Please tell us why it is possible to prevent accidents like the Sasago Tunnel by implementing the three-year safety improvement plan.

[President Kaneko]

One of the three-year plans for safety improvement is the “Society Capital Improvement Council,” which was established by Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and is investigating and examining the “Investigation and Review Committee on Tunnel Ceiling Drops” and the standards. We reflect opinions such as "road subcommittee road maintenance subcommittee" and cope. In addition, the review of inspections, etc., has been started by the workings of the "Expressway Technology Review Committee on Long-Term Maintenance and Renewal of Assets", which is set up at NEXCO3 and discusses how long-term maintenance should be. . Another important thing was that the Safety Experts Committee, which was established by the Company, was held five times by members of outside experts and received extremely strict opinions. The three-year safety improvement plan was compiled based on such opinions.

In addition, I think it is very important to have an organization and awareness to ensure that the three-year safety improvement plan is implemented. If we change our organization and establish a system to implement the three-year safety improvement plan firmly, and if each and every employee has a firm awareness of giving top priority to safety, it will never happen again. I think you can.

[Reporter]

The service area and parking area situation was positive in October of the previous year. I think the reason why gasoline is growing significantly is that the price of gasoline has risen significantly. Shin-Tomei Expressway be said that has been settled standing one year, please tell me if you consider the leverage measures of the service area and parking area in the future.

[President Kaneko]

Traffic increased by 3%, but food and drink unfortunately dropped by about 5%. Last year was just after the opening, so many customers came as expected. It was expected from the beginning that this would converge by about 10% to 15%. However, in any situation, I don't think it's down from the previous year. Those who are doing so-called retailing have devised various things, such as commemorative sales and spring and summer campaigns. By devising, I think that the number of repeaters who want to go to that service area again will increase. I think it's important to strengthen both when you go to the service area and there is something new or great hospitality.

【MC】

It seems that the question has been interrupted, so this will end the regular press conference.
