E1 Tomei YokohamaMachida IC to Ebina JCT Traffic congestion prevention construction Lane switching timing review (STEP (1) → STEP (2))

In order to alleviate congestion near the Yamato Tunnel between the Yokohama-Machida Interchange (IC) and Ebina Junction (JCT) on the E1 Tomei Expwy (Tomei), construction work (STEP (1)) is being carried out to widen the bridge and install additional lanes.
This construction project was originally scheduled to involve lane switching (STEP (1) → STEP (2)) around February 2026, but as a result of a review of the construction plan due to changes in local conditions, we are now announcing that the lane switching is now expected to take place around February 2027. We will separately announce plans for lane restrictions from STEP (2) onwards.
We will continue to work to minimize the impact on customers using Expressway, so we ask for your continued understanding and cooperation.
