● Expressway will be closed to traffic in the following cases:
○When rain continues for a long period of time (cumulative rainfall)
○ The combination of continuous rainfall and hourly rainfall exceeds a certain level (combined rainfall).
○ If strong winds that would hinder driving are observed.
○ If the effects of high waves are confirmed

*If a road closure is initiated, customers using service areas (SAs) and parking areas (PAs) within the closed section may be unable to move until the closure is lifted.
*The amount of rainfall so far has loosened the ground, increasing the risk of landslides.
Therefore, the road closure will only be lifted after a period of rain-free weather has passed, followed by inspections, work, and confirmation of safety.

In response to the application of overtime work cap regulations to the construction industry from April 2024, Central Nippon Expressway Company Limited, along with East Nippon Expressway Co. Ltd. and West Nippon Expressway Co., Ltd., has been identifying issues and formulating and implementing various initiatives since last year through exchanges of opinions with the Japan Construction Federation and on-site interviews in order to realize work style reform in the construction industry as a client and promote environmental improvements at Expressway.
We have summarized the status of these initiatives and would like to inform you of them, and we will continue to work on improving business efficiency.
