About technology strategy
NEXCO CENTRAL has formulated a "technology strategy" to proactively develop and utilize the sophistication of inspection work, technology to restore aging Expressway, and the rapidly evolving ICT, IoT, AI, and other technologies. To achieve this, we are promoting open innovation with universities and companies, actively utilizing the technologies owned by our customers, and advancing technological development.
1. Call for technical proposals
In order to actively utilize the technologies possessed by universities and companies, we are particularly looking for information and proposals on new technologies and new construction methods for the following themes.

- Efficient and effective road maintenance to ensure safety
- Safe, smooth and easy-to-use Expressway
- Ensuring a disaster-resistant and safe network
- Achieving global environmental protection, including decarbonization.

2. Recruitment of information such as new technology
In order to actively utilize the technologies possessed by universities and companies, we are looking for information on new technologies and new construction methods for the following themes.

Technology related to measures to alleviate congestion in parking lots
Expressway rest areas (service areas and parking areas) suffer from chronic congestion, particularly in the parking areas for large vehicles, especially during weekday nights. Large vehicles have a high demand for parking during weekday nights, and many vehicles are forced to leave rest areas because they cannot find a parking space due to the parking of vehicles of different types or sizes that do not fit the designated parking spaces, or due to long-term parking. In order to ensure that drivers have reliable opportunities to rest and relax, measures are needed to improve parking efficiency, such as by expanding parking spaces and discouraging long-term parking, in addition to efforts to expand parking spaces.
In order to consider and implement future countermeasures, we request that you provide us with technical information related to measures to alleviate parking lot congestion.

In order to actively utilize the technologies possessed by universities and companies, we are looking for joint research / developers with the following themes.

4. Seeking information on technologies, products, etc.
We are seeking information from companies regarding their technologies and products, etc., in order to use this information as a reference for technologies to be utilized in Expressway projects.

1. Technologies and products that quickly eliminate uneven road surfaces that occur during disasters
2. A simple rust prevention treatment agent for steel parts that requires a single layer application
3. Lane closures that can be easily installed and removed
4. All-weather primer for cold-mix asphalt
