This is the 12th photo contest. As an annual scenery, a variety of works are narrow and fill the examination hall.
It seems that recruitment in the two divisions was widely known, and this time we received many applications from people of various ages. With the number of prizes in both categories being determined, the jury was still struggling to narrow down the prize-winning works, although it was an ordinary year.
"Expressway and the four seasons landscape section" < Grand Prize > It was Takufumi Yoshida's "Fire Triton." This work captures Triton, a famous port on Isewangan Expwy, against the backdrop of a beautiful sunset in Ise Bay. Meito Triton beautifully lit up under the ultra-blue sky. The balance between the night view and the bridge in the industrial area surrounding Nagoya Port, which is the background, is very well structured. The work captures the ever-changing atmosphere of the sky at exquisite timing, and makes you feel as if you are watching a title back of a gorgeous Hollywood movie.
< Outstanding performance award > "Spreading Shin-Tomei Expressway" by Toshiyasu Yamazaki, selected for (Spring). Shin-Tomei Expwy is sewn through the gaps between the cherry blossoms in the soft spring sunshine. Under the gentle sunlight, the contrast between the bokeh of the cherry blossoms that surround it and the sharply depicted car is interesting.
same < Outstanding performance award > (Summer) Toshiyuki Tokawa's "Legged Legs". Shin-Tomei Expwy Construction site. Is it shooting in the rainy weather? In the background of dark clouds, the details created by heavy rain on the surface of a brand-new concrete pier are given a more impactful tone by adding filter work, cutting off exposure, making full use of image software, etc. I think that the. Although it is a photographic expression with a sense of aging, it may indicate one direction of digital photography.
same < Outstanding performance award > (Autumn) "Coexistence" by Yoshito Matsuura. An idyllic landscape photograph in the lake water of Tomei Expwy straddling (again) Lake Hamana. Perhaps it's a heron, a duck, or even a seagull, who rests its wings in the lake water that has been dyed red. A scene where everyone can feel at ease with the silhouettes of several types of wild birds in a beautiful sunset. The presence of the boat in the foreground makes people and nature co-exist. The silhouette of a flocked heron, which would have been waiting for a long time, is pictured.
same < Outstanding performance award > (Winter) Yasuo Kinoshita's New Photo Spot. Tomei Expwy Fujikawa SA is a shooting on stage where you can meet the local character "Fujihime" and the original character NEXCO CENTRAL "Michimaru-kun". It is a work with a strange feeling. It is interesting not only the cuteness of the character but also the fact that Mt. Fuji is arranged like a signboard picture of a sento. It is truly a "new photo spot".
< Honorable mention > Kagiya Chitose's "Wonderland" and the like are graphic graphics of shining amusement parks that are projected on the surface of the water, and it is interesting to see Art Deco patterns.
< Honorable mention > Mr. Toshiyasu Iwaasa's `` Preparation for casting '' captures the appearance of placing on a magnificent Fuji mountaintop in a frame with arrangement of reinforcements in the background, and it is built in front of the mountaintop due to the telephoto lens effect It is interesting to look like. Even so, the peak of Fuji is amazing when it overlaps with people!
< Honorable mention > "Dawn of the day before" Ritsuka "" by Tasumi Yamashita. It is a beautiful picture. It must have been shot with a camera with a wide dynamic range. It is amazing that it is described in detail without the loss of detail in the dark part! Image adjustments are skillful, but saturation adjustments may be a little modest.
Mr. Tatsuya Fukano's "Fruit Autumn" won the "Best Award" in "Your Special Landscape Category". Even this! The autumn sunset is on the persimmon tree that bears fruit. It seems that he is looking at a noble realist oil painting. The countryside scenery that you often see is up to that point, but you can feel the sharpness of the author's sensibility when taking pictures casually with a lens with an angle of view close to the human eye, without any strangeness. It's like adding nothing or pulling nothing.
<Excellence Award> (Spring) Yukio Hayakawa's "Memorial Learning House". A beautifully blooming cherry tree covers the school building. When the author was learning, he wouldn't have looked so good. A cherry tree as a symbol of a nostalgic learning building. By embedding the trajectory of the stars in the night sky in the background, the passage of time up to now is well imaged. Although it is a classic method, it is quite elaborate, such as long exposure. I feel the familiar career that I have accumulated over the years.
The same <Excellence Award> (Summer) Hisashi Kawai 's "Festival Flower". Hida Takayama's hand-held fireworks that are held as a nuisance. What a spectacular fire pillar from the hand tube! In the midst of midsummer, I even feel the godliness of the fireworks in black costume standing up against the sparks. The screen composition is also powerful.
The same <Excellence Award> (Autumn) Yuji Ueno's "Tenkou" is a scene that makes you want to hum "~ Mahi Yuruaki" in succession. A clear ultramarine sky, lying cirrocumulus clouds, and a cosmos herd that blooms beautifully underneath, perhaps on the bank of a river. It's a fairy tale-like landscape, but it's finished well with a wide-angle lens and filter work. The person in the parasol in the background is working.
The same <Excellence Award> (Winter) Yusuke Katsuta's "First Sunrise" by Yusuke Katsuta. It was an encounter with a wonderful view early in the new year. It seems that the phenomenon of air storms can only be encountered in extremely cold regions, and what a divine thing is the golden color that penetrates the fog under the clear cold air. The silhouette of the sailing ship in the foreground makes this work stand out.
<Honorable Mention> "Swimming carp streamer" by Ikuo Hoshino. A spectacular event where 1000 carp streamers are said to swim on the wire connecting the opposite banks of the Sagami River in Sagamihara City. Perhaps it was before preparations, and more than 50 carp streamers that had been solidified were squeezed in the wind. It's funny to see the carp swarming in the bait.
Others <Honorable Mention> Mr. Sohiro Kobayashi's "Fun Tarai Nagashi" is a really fun photo, as you can hear the cheers of children.
In the same <Honorable Mention> Mr. Tsuyoshi Aiba's "Walking", the light stroking the back of his dog is beautiful in the forest near the autumn leaves. It looks like you're looking at a picture.
The same <Honorable Mention> Mr. Yoshiharu Ito's "Snow Factory Night View" is an illusion that pale light blue polka-dotted snow is floating in the emerald green factories illuminated by mercury lamps by opening the lens aperture. Work.
In the same <Honorable Mention> Shoshichi Kato's "Hanamomo no Sato after heavy rain", the contrast between the flowing water surface and the colorful peach blossoms is beautiful in the monotone landscape after the rain. In the color tone adjustment, it might have been better to suppress the saturation a little more.
The jury members also feel that there is a wide variety of other winning works, many of which are outstanding, and that each time the photo contest is held, the interest in this photo contest is reflected throughout the works.
In this category, young people in their thirties who have won the highest prize in both categories are veterans. We are waiting for applications from a wide range of ages.

After the 2019 photo contest
This year, it was more time to judge a fun and fun photo contest than ever before. Unprecedented local landscapes have also increased, seasonally, artistic, fantastic, ink, adorable, smiling, and varied. I am glad that the age range of those who applied has widened, and it was a difficult time to choose, but it was full of the real pleasure of choosing.
Traveling themes have recently become widespread, including scenic landscapes and hands-on experiences that touch local people and life. Actually, my favorite travel theme was seeing and walking around construction sites and factories. Now called infratourism, tours to see the construction site and the night view of the factory where the instagram shines are gaining in popularity. Since this photo contest is sponsored by NEXCO CENTRAL, the Expressway is naturally one of the leading roles, but in the first place this construction site is dynamic and has high design of bridges, etc. When people who work on construction every day while ensuring safety are filled with excitement, they are full of excitement. Among the works selected this time, there were some that reflected the construction site with the illusion of natural light and light of light and finished in a fantastic work, and unfortunately it was a wonderful work even though it was omitted in the selection There were many.
Another big task of the jury is to select works to be published on next year's calendar. When choosing photos for a normal calendar, it is often conscious that the styles and tones are the same, although the picture is different for each page, but next year's calendar will have a different taste every time you turn the page. There may be some pros and cons, but this was an arrangement that could only be done because of your submission. In particular, the end of the year is two shots of NEXCO CENTRAL and local characters. Actually, the person who shot this work also sent me a beautiful landscape work. By the way, which one will you leave? It expresses the philosophy of fulfilling the mission of the Expressway when the town and the region are firmly connected.
2019, major disasters occurred in various places. We sincerely thank the victims and the local community. With a desire to leave this beautiful Japanese landscape forever and finish with a smile for the coming year, we selected 7 works from a selection of masterpieces.
Next year, everyone will be happy to travel around the country and take good care of the local area, capture the wonderful moments and share the excitement with us. I am glad if the students also participate. I wish you a good year.
