[Latest status of damage and countermeasures]
Restoration work is underway due to sediment inflow from outside the road area due to heavy rain. Due to the expected long road closures, customers planning to travel between Tsuruga IC and Imajo IC are requested to make a detour to a wider area, such as the E41 Tokai-Hokuriku Expressway.
<In-In-bound line> (for Maibara)
・A field survey of a large-scale sediment inflow event was completed near the Tsuruga Tunnel entrance.
(About 1,000㎥ of sediment inflow into the road area (approximately 200 large dump trucks)
・In addition, some emergency measures have been completed for two small-scale disaster areas.
・For emergency vehicle traffic only, we have already secured up-and-down traffic today (August 7 (Sun)) at 9:00 by utilizing the in-In-bound line of the relevant section.
< Out-bound > (for Kanazawa/Niigata)
・There was a large-scale sediment inflow event near the Tsuruga Tunnel entrance, and a field survey has been underway since August 5 (Friday).

[Future Prospects]
<Emergency restoration status>
○On the In-bound line (for Maibara), measures are being taken to complete emergency measures around the middle of this week.
We have completed the removal of large-scale sediment inflow points and the installation of large sandbags, and are planning to implement emergency restoration by installing piles and sheet piles.
○On the Out-bound line (for Kanazawa and Niigata), the completion date for emergency measures is undecided.
Due to the inflow of sediment from outside the road area, the amount of sedimentation is quite large, so in the morning of Saturday, August 6, we conducted a joint field survey with Fukui Prefecture, Tsuruga City, and Hokuriku Electric Power Co., Inc.
Based on the results of the investigation, we plan to promptly formulate the necessary measures and processes, and indicate the prospects for restoration.
