What was your motive for joining the company?
When I was a child, I witnessed how the opening of Shin-Tomei Expwy and smart IC in my hometown led to the revitalization of the region, so I want to make people's lives more comfortable by being involved in our Expressway business. That's what I thought when I joined the company.
What kind of work is your job?
I am in charge of designing and placing orders for the facilities and equipment that will be installed on Expressway under construction. We consider the layout plan and equipment specifications for facilities and equipment on the road after it opens, and we strive to manage progress so that the results can be smoothly translated into construction implementation. While interacting with various departments, such as confirming construction drawings with the construction office, coordinating construction order schedules with the contract department, confirming equipment specifications with the technical department, and coordinating layouts with the head office regarding newly established SA/PA. We are proceeding with our work.
How rewarding is this job?
I find it rewarding to work together not only with our employees but also with related parties such as group companies, design and construction companies, and take on huge projects such as ``building Expressway.'' In addition to making use of the technology and knowledge that we have inherited through the construction of Expressway, we are thinking every day about how we can create safer, more secure, and more comfortable Expressway spaces by utilizing new technologies. Masu. Although I have not yet experienced the opening of an expressway, I hope that by accumulating one step at a time, I can help open Expressway.
What are your thoughts on the appeal and characteristics of this company?
I am attracted to the opportunity to experience different locations and departments through job rotation.
I was involved in maintenance work in my previous department. By reflecting the issues and concerns I experienced at the site in improved form in the facilities I am currently involved in under construction, I have been able to improve maintenance and management.
In addition, the layout and operation of facility equipment vary widely depending on regional characteristics such as traffic volume and snowfall. I feel that it is both difficult and interesting to draw on past experience, grasp the characteristics of each line, and think about the optimal form of facility equipment on a daily basis.
What are your goals for the future?
Technological innovations such as self-driving technology and electric vehicles are progressing rapidly, and Expressway facilities and equipment are required to incorporate technology that is in line with the times. On the other hand, there are a wide range of issues that need to be addressed, such as countermeasures against aging equipment and the creation of systems to deal with the shortage of human resources. By matching these new technologies and issues and further evolving Expressway facilities, we would like to create an Expressway space that customers can use more safely, securely, and comfortably.
