Interview date: November 2023

Q. What was your motive for joining the company?

I became interested in Expressway after having an experience where the ease of access to Expressway was a deciding factor in my travel destination, and I wanted to contribute to new regional revitalization through new projects from the perspective of operating Expressway. I decided to join the company.

Q. What kind of work is your job?

We are working on new businesses to develop pillars of earnings other than Expressway business. I am in charge of regional development along Expressway (development projects around interchanges), and am conducting research and consideration on development projects around interchanges on a daily basis. Additionally, as the management department of Companies in our Group that operates Terrace Gate Toki, a commercial complex that opened in 2015 as a regional development project in collaboration with Toki City, Gifu Prefecture, we aim to increase profits. In addition, we are considering various new businesses, including taking on the challenge of developing new businesses that are not bound by existing businesses. .

Q. How rewarding is this job?

This allows us to take on the challenge of new business, an area in which we have no prior experience. When considering a new business, I was able to experience work that was a little different from Expressway business, such as market research, on-site inspections of existing facilities, and profitability considerations, and I felt it was rewarding to be able to broaden my own perspective through these experiences. I am. On the other hand, since this is a field in which they have no experience, they also face many challenges and difficulties. When doing so, I work in cooperation with my superiors and colleagues, and approach my work by viewing these as opportunities for personal growth.

Q. What are your thoughts on the appeal and characteristics of this company?

The advantage is that you can work on a variety of tasks through job rotation. Our company's operations cover a wide range of areas, including construction, maintenance, service, service area, and new businesses, but by experiencing a variety of operations through job rotation since joining the company, we have been able to see things from a multifaceted perspective. You will be able to do it. I also like the fact that the training content is comprehensive. In addition to passive training such as rank-based training and job training, we also offer many types of training that employees can actively participate in, allowing employees to grow themselves through a comprehensive training program.

Q. What are your goals for the future?

We hope to contribute to the revitalization of the region along Expressway through this new interchange area development project. Implementing development projects around interchanges not only leads to an increase in the number of customers using Expressway, but also contributes to increasing employment in the region. Our department will continue to work together with various companies and local governments to create projects that will make people want to entrust their interchange area development projects to NEXCO CENTRAL. We would like to realize our goal of "building a new community connected through creativity."
