2019年2月1日付で安全帯の規制に関する政省令・告示が改正され、「安全帯」の名称が「墜落制止用器具」に変更となり、高さ6.75ｍ（建設業では5.0ｍ）を超える箇所ではフルハーネス型の使用が原則となりました。

保全用フルハーネスは、新規格に適合した仕様で、身体の主要部分を支持する構造のため、万一墜落した際の衝撃が身体の太腿・肩・腰など複数の箇所に分散されます。

保全用フルハーネスは、従来のフルハーネスと比べ、落下時に身体に与える衝撃が少ないため、身体にかかる負担を軽減します。
