I started to become aware of NEXCO CENTRAL job hunting when the Shin-Tomei Expwy was opened and the newly opened service area was attracting attention. I also came to feel like a sightseeing and enjoyed the scenery, the local gourmet, and I was impressed by the service area developed with various concepts. He is connected to various parts of Japan and constructs and manages Expressway that support the flow of people and goods, and was attracted to work with a great sense of mission. I felt fascinated by this company that can also contribute.

I was involved in recruiting new graduates in my previous work, but I think there are many students who are attracted to the service area business. I remember meeting with Mr. Yanagida, who is currently looking for a job, but you talked about working in the service area.

Well, I thought I should be involved in store development and renewal. But the reason for my most desire is the public nature Expressway Because I thought that I could work with a sense of mission by being involved in the construction and management of the company. On top of that, it was also attractive to have a wide range of work such as commercial facility management, new development of tourism products, event planning.

I also had a high social contribution and felt great attraction for the development of the region. I am currently working at the Fuji Conservation and Service Center at Shinfuji Interchange at Shin-Tomei Expwy.
Expressway is responsible for keeping the traffic safe and smooth. We support the "traffic management team" who regularly patrols Expressway in a yellow patrol car and coordinate patrol reports. In addition, if an accident occurs on Expressway and the guardrails, columns, etc. are damaged, the person who caused the accident will be charged, but it is important to do the paperwork and negotiate with the insurance agent Work. We are also considering measures to prevent accidents in the first place, such as preventing reverse running of Expressway.

I was assigned to this department after joining the company. After that, I was involved in the same maintenance and service business as Mr. Ikeda. After that, I was in charge of planning and adjustment for intensive construction and so on, and took about one and a half years of maternity leave and childcare leave. At the same time as returning to work in October of last year, I was assigned to the current contract team. The work is really wide. Contract work related to construction and surveys as well as production of commercials and promotional materials, etc., but covers a wide range of procedures from ordering to completion and schedule management, contract creation, and billing. Because there are a lot of work based on the law, every day I have no knowledge of the law, so I study continuously. In particular, now I have a short-time work system until 4pm, so it's fulfilling but busy with both public and private!

育休明けに以前いた部署に配属されたのは、慣れた部署のほうが復職後のペースをつかみやすいという配慮があったのかもね。柳田さんと同じく、私も。今の部署は比較的時間のコントロールがしやすいから助かっています。担当しているのは社員の安全意識向上に関する企画や、支社の事業計画作成、システム・ネットワーク管理と情報セキュリティ、CSR(企業の社会的責任)や地域貢献に関わる業務など盛りだくさん。前例のない仕事をゼロから企画していく案件も多く手がけています。自分でアイデアを出して考えなければいけないので大変ですが、好きなことができる面白さはありますね。以前、CSRの一環として、東富士五湖道路周辺の外来植物の駆除活動を行ったときは、研究所の先生のもとへ取材に行きました。高齢者ドライバーの視点を養うために、白内障ゴーグルや腰が曲がるサポーターをつけて、疑似体験会を企画したこともあります。

Even though I am still in my second year, there are many scenes where I feel respected and trusted. In some cases, accident claims handle large amounts of money, and you often feel pressure and struggle, but when you get in touch with us, you can feel a lot of achievement! That also encourages new work.

高橋

The job is gender equality, but there are many male employees, so there are many requests for opinions and proposals from a female perspective. I was impressed that there was no such idea, and the proposal passed as it was. Female employees are always called for the “working” initiative, in which members gather from different departments and implement various projects such as the development of new products.

柳田

Speaking of which, there was a request for a tasting from a restaurant in the service area as a tenant to a female employee. I think that the aim was “to grab the heart of a woman holding a purse string to increase sales!”. There are many fields that reflect our opinions.

高橋

Originally it is a corporate culture that respects people and takes care of them. That's because of the low turnover rate. On the other hand, there are many people with a high level of safety awareness and passionate passion. In the event of a disaster, you are united and there is a sense of solidarity.

池田

In particular, everyone is proud of the fact that we are protecting the Expressway! The Tomei Expwy we manage has a section that runs along the coast, but during the typhoon season, we demonstrate our organizational strength to cope with traffic closures caused by overtopping waves! Everyone packs up in the emergency response room and prepares for war. It is a moment to feel once again that each person's sense of mission is keeping safety.

Recently, the number of female employees has been increasing little by little, and I feel that it has evolved into a more comfortable working environment. You can get shorter working hours until your child is in the third grade of elementary school, and the support system for childcare is generous. I understand that people around me work while raising children. Speaking of difficulties, everyone is too kind and pampered (laughs). If your life stage changes due to marriage or childbirth, it is important to talk with your boss whether you want to leave more work, give priority to family life, or how you want to work. I don't have much time to interact with my child during the day, but I want to show my child a back working for the community.

柳田

Certainly, there are aspects of listening to and considering the wishes and circumstances of employees. So, if you have a job you want to do, keep raising your voice! It is not always the timing you want, but it will give you a chance. There is an environment where everyone can play a leading role. I also want to maintain a good balance between work and home and become a junior role model.

I'm still inexperienced, so I don't know much, and I honestly can't imagine what will happen in the future. However, since I am a newcomer, I am expected to be involved in a wider range of work in the future because I have experienced various work. I want to find what I like and what I want to do as I gain experience. The goal is to live greedy without giving up easily.
